Including Josh

Last Thursday mom had a night meeting, leaving dad home alone with the boys.  I was worried about managing two boys who tend to melt down for bedtime simultaneously, but it turned out great.

The biggest fun came when Lucas built a pillow fort in front of Joshua's crib. We put Lucas's toddler chair and Joshie's bumbo behind the fortress walls and all three of us crammed into the tiny space.  At some point Lucas announced that Ninjas were attacking us.  I spotted the stuffed star and a couple of other toys in Josh's crib and decided they were weapons -- but only Josh knew how to activate them!  So, we handed each weapon to Josh, who promptly stuck it in his mouth. Then Lucas took the activated weapon and threw it over the fortress walls to get the Ninjas.  All of this was pretty big fun, and Lucas really seemed to like being able to include his little brother in playtime. Joshie was very pleased too!
