J: (Singing John Denver's Country Roads) ...West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home country roads. I hear her voice, in the morning as she calls to me. Radio reminds me of my home far away...
L: Is her name really "Radio"?
J: Hmm?
L: The mama. Is her name really "Radio"?
L: Sing me two bedtime songs, mom, First, New Shenandoah (what he calls Country Roads), then sing Old Shenandoah (Shenandoah).
J: Okay, here goes...
L: WAIT! I'll sing it! ...These twenty acres, and one jenny mule...(Cracks up laughing hysterically)
J: Hey, that's not Shenandoah! That's a Dada bedtime song! (Annabelle by Gillian Welch)
L: Okay, this is it...Helpless helpless heeelpless...(another burst of laughter)
J: That's not it either! That's a Neil Young song!
L: Okay, THIS time I'll sing it. Almost heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River. Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, blowin' in the breeze. Country rooooooads, take me hoooooom, to the plaaaace I beloooooong, West Virginia, mountain mama, take me hoooome country roads. I hear her voice in the morning as she calls to me, radio reminds me of my home far away... (here he starts mixing up all the verses together)
J: Wow, that was loud! and really good, Luke! I've only been singing that song to you for two weeks!
L: (Smiles, very pleased with himself.)
