Reading?

We visited a friend in Chicago this weekend, and he is subletting a condo from a couple who just had a baby. So, they have a bunch of brand-new board books for little kids on the bookshelf in the room where Luke slept.

I went to read him some books before his nap, and we looked up across the room to the bookshelf, where you could see the spines of several books. Luke looked for a minute and blurted out: "Brown Bear, Brown Bear!", which we have at home. At first I wasn't surprised that he recognized a book that he has at home, but then I realized the book doesn't have any pictures on the spine -- just words.
