I was volunteering in the media center at Lucas's school. On the other side of some tall bookshelves, the librarian was reading a story to L's kindergarten class -- it seemed to be about a bunch of farm animals eating together, and a fox who pretends to be friendly because he wants to eat the chicken.
Mrs. T: Do you know what someone is called if they choose not to eat meat?
Many voices: A vegetarian! A vegetarian!
Boy: My brother is a vegetarian!
Girl: My mom and dad are vegetarians, and I am too!
Lucas: I don't know if Joshie is a vegetarian yet because he's only one.
In the end the fox changes his mind and doesn't eat the chicken.
Lucas: That fox really changed his attitude!
Girl: Yeah, because the chicken was sooooo cute!
Even the librarian giggled a little at them.
