Timelines, Lucas Style
Luke and I were talking about my grandfather, Daniel Boone.
L: Do I know him?
J: No, he died when I was in college. Many years ago.
L: When there were saber-tooths?
J: No, it was long after saber-tooth cats were around.
L: Oh, I know. It was when I was in my birthmom's tummy!
Ice Age
Last weekend we visited a museum in Grand Haven with the boys' cousins to see a traveling exhibit about post ice-age animals. The star of the show was a diorama with a life-sized saber-toothed cat. (I learned that they don't call them saber-toothed tigers anymore.) When you pressed a button, the diorama let out a fierce roar. Joshua was pretty interested and pushed the button a few times. Later he was walking around with Dad, and whenever he saw a large animal (musk ox, giant beaver, cave bear, etc) he would let out a very gutteral "grrrrrrr".

Tell Joshua no growling at the babies at daycare; they might not be as brave as he is!
Just in case he sees a big animal at daycare, that is.
