"Your dada days are over!"

A few days ago Lucas wouldn't get in his carseat to go to daycare because he was distracted by his writing book. After he ignored repeated requests to please get in his carseat etc., and after warning him that I'd have to take his writing pad away if it was too distracting, I felt I had no choice but to follow through on the threat.  As soon as I took it away from him he turned and glared at me:

L: You're nothing but a thief!  Your dada days are over!*

I cracked up, he smiled, and then he got in his carseat.  Later that night he insisted that I tell mama the whole story, clearly very proud of his successful joke.

* He apparently got this line from a mystery book we recently read about some mice who discover that an apparently-respectable mouse lady stole their treasure...

UPDATE: Here is the full line from the mystery book: "The treasure belongs to Lord Dougal.  You are just a thief. Your ghosting days are over."  Mrs. MacRobb, the offending mouse, had been scaring everyone in the castle by dressing up as a ghost.
