Rock and ROLL!

The three of us had just arrived home from two weeks at Grandma's in San Diego. The boy says "want to hear some rock and roll." Not surprising after two weeks of the Nutcracker. Dad dutifully starts putting on songs. First a Bright Eyes tune pops up. Lucas says, "not rock and roll." Then the New Pornographers. "Not rock and roll." Next, Calexico. "No, want ROCK AND ROLL." So David puts on Memphis, Egypt* by the Mekons. Lucas immediately smiles and starts bouncing. "Yeeaaah, rock and ROLL!"
