When I picked Luke up at Gretchen's house he wanted to see mama. "Where's mama? Go see mama?" Yes, Lucas, we're going home to see mama.
We left the playground and walked indoors to sign the sign-out sheet, where we saw Jack's mom. (Jack is a new toddler.) Lucas got a mischevous grin and pointed to her. "That's my mama!" Then we walked up the stairs, and on the landing we saw Ian's dad. Luke smiled and pointed again. "That's my mama!" Right behind Ian's dad came Yason's mom. "That's my mama!" At the top of the stairs we saw Emily, one of the teachers, at the kitchen sink. "That's my mama!" Emily replied: "Well, that's a new one, Lucas!"
We biked home and when I opened his chariot cover in our carport he announced with the same mischevous grin, "Gretchen's house!" I asked him where his friends were and he ran up to the North wall of the house and started pointing at individual bricks. "That's Meg!" Another brick: "That's Ivy!" And another: "That's Arthur!"
