Missing people

Lucas got sick this weekend. On Saturday he threw up after his nap, providing quite a show for his houseguests Graham (age 6), Oliver (age 4), and Stephanie (their mom). He seemed better on Sunday, when he had big fun at the farm and ran around the park a lot with his new friends, but then last night around midnight he threw up again all over his crib. (Poor puppy.)

Obviously we kept him home today. He was a little cranky from lack of sleep, and he was physically tired because we won't let him eat much besides applesauce and toast. Other than that, though, he was mostly in a pretty sweet mood.

There was, however, one bit of weirdness: He kept saying -- actually insisting -- that he needed to see his cousin and his grandma. It started this morning while mama was on Lucas duty:
L: Kids go? [he calls Graham and Oliver the "kids"]
J: They went to visit some other friends.
L: Wanna see Megan. Wanna play with Megan.
J: We'll see Megan on Saturday. We're going to visit her this weekend!
L: Wanna play with Megan. Wanna go to beach.
J: We'll see her this weekend honey.
L: [getting upset] Megan! Megan! Wanna see Megan!
J: Do you love your cousin Lucas?
L: Yeah.

This afternoon, when daddy was watching Lucas, he asked about Megan again, though it didn't go on quite as long. He quickly switched to Grandma.

L: Grandma! Wanna see grandma.
D: Which grandma, Lucas?
L: Grandma Jackie.
D: Grandma Jackie lives a long way away sweetie. We'll visit her at Christmas time, and she might come visit us soon too.
L: Wanna see Grandma! Wanna see Grandma Sally. Grandma Sally.
D: We'll see Grandma Sally this weekend, honey. We're going to visit her.
L: [getting upset] Wanna see Grandma Sally later. [He means later today; this weekend is too long to wait]
D: That's only four days, sweetie.
L: Wanna see Grandma Sally!

Later when we got in the car to get mama at work he asked, "go to grandma Sally's in car" and we had to repeat the argument all over again.

He is very sweet and we hope he feels better tomorrow.
