Dada is taking a short trip to Chicago on Thursday, returning Saturday. (He's visiting uncle Tony, who just moved there -- grrrr.) To mentally prepare Luke for the trip I mentioned it to him tonight.
D: On Thursday I'm going to Chicago for a short trip.
L: [Keeps looking at his book, but his expression changes]
D: I'll be gone for two days.
L: No dada no go Chicago!
D: Mama will be here with you and you'll have fun together.
L: [Puts down his book and lies on the floor]
D: Maybe I'll bring you a present back from Chicago!
He definitely understood what I was saying. I didn't want to make a huge deal about it but I do want him to be prepared. We'll see how it goes!
