Speller

Last Saturday, at the conclusion of the Michigan Marching Band show after the football game, the band spelled out M U E L L E R. They always spell a word at the end, and I was pleased that, for the first time in two seasons of postgame performances, I was able to decipher what it said (with assistance from Aunt Sonia, an excellent speller, and Lucas, who was of course also in attendance).

Yesterday, feeling silly, I used Lucas's fridge magnets to spell out F R I E N D L Y on our back door. Today when Luke got home, he noticed the word and asked Dad what it said. He was very interested and rearranged the remaining letters into a word of his own. When asked what his word said, he told David "Mueller!" David, who had left before the end of the band show, had no idea what that meant until Lucas explained.
