Superheroes!

Daycare sends out weekly updates on what the kids have been interested in. This one is from August 23, as is the photo (L has his back to the camera).

Some things the children have been doing the last few weeks include making capes out of the scarves in the music area, drawing pictures of superheroes in the writing area, and dancing like superheroes during music and movement activities. Gideon and his family donated some superhero masks and capes to our center and the children have really extended their play on this topic ever since. They put on the dress-up clothes and engage in cooperative play as they act out characters such as Bat Girl and Captain America. Some children are even creating their own characters. Lucas put on a pink mask and called himself, “Flamingo Boy.”
