I left for a meeting tonight while Lucas was eating dinner. I had promised him that I would give him a kiss when I got home. Well, I got home earlier than expected, and he was still awake when I sneaked in.
L: Mama, you're home?
J: Yes, I am, and I'm here to kiss you goodnight.
L: Where were you?
J: At work, at a meeting.
L: What you do there?
J: At the meeting? (Yeah.) I sat at a table and talked to a bunch of people.
l: What you talk about?
J: You really want to know?
L: Yeah! Want to know. What you talk about?
J: We talked about whether a man should be allowed to build a building.
L: A building? Far away?
J: Yes, across town.
L: Has floors? Up? What building for?
J: Yes, it will have lots of floors, and the building will be for offices.
L: When the man build it?
J: Not tonight, Lucas, so lets go to sleep.
Then as I was singing him to sleep, he popped his head up and said "Building it now?"
