Mama has a night meeting so Luke and I stopped by the pizza store to buy him a slice for dinner. He was very impressed. "Big pizza store!" We ordered our slice and they heated it and put it in a box. "Look at it! Look at pizza!" So we opened the box to look at it when we got to the car.
When we got home he ate the entire slice in about five minutes. (They aren't small slices. Jill and I have eaten there once before, and each of us full-grown adult types ate one slice for dinner.) Shortly afterwards he ate most of a banana too.
It transformed his mood. He was fine when I picked him up, but he was a little touchy the same way he has been most of the week. In fact I started out by cutting two smallish pieces off of his slice so they'd be easier to eat, but he got very upset when I brought them to the table. "Big slice!" So I brought him the rest in one piece. Once he had eaten it he was very cheery. We played on the sidewalk for a half hour and I had to beg him to come in for his shower.
He got to sleep pretty quickly. Let's hope his cold is turning the corner.
