Yep, He's a Big Boy

We knew Luke was big for his age, and many people have commented on his size to us, but now it's official. As of our doctor's appointment yesterday:

Weight: 17 lbs (84th percentile of all babies his age)
Height: 27 inches (96%)
Head circumference: 17 inches (66%)

Everything went great at the doc and we had a long conversation with her about starting solid foods (hooray!), which we've now been cleared to do. As anyone who knows David can imagine, this is fabulous news. Rice cereal today, duck confit tomorrow! (Kidding, kidding, it's too soon and too salty. But maybe Peking duck by Christmas...)

Luke is starting to wear cousin Grant's and cousin Ryan's fantastic preppy wintertime hand-me-downs, like the black watch plaid shirt in this photo of him and his friend, the baby in the mirror. Ooh la la, vous êtes si beau.

I forgot to mention the Elvis Costello and the Attractions poster that Stephanie gave me in 1989. It's framed and hanging in the basement, and Lucas will stare at it until our arms fall off holding him up. Probably the black/white/red color scheme and stark graphics, or perhaps he's admiring the horn rims.
